L.S.B.C. was started in 1988 making it one of the oldest bass clubs in Nova Scotia. L.S.B.C. tournament waters are mainly located in Digby and Yarmouth Counties, which are considered the best bass waters in the province. Having the mildest climate in Nova Scotia and an abundance of good fishing lakes has developed into several trophy lakes in the area.

As with most clubs, L.S.B.C. had humble beginnings. A dozen anglers would get together and throw $10 in the hat and go fishing for 10 hours. It didn't matter what type of boat you had, as long as it floated, and several members had homemade boats. Not all anglers had trolling motors and/or fish finders but the idea was to spend an enjoyable day in friendly competition with like-minded people.

Today L.S.B.C. is one of the most active clubs in the province normally running 10-12 semi-professional tournaments a year. Most of the original members still remain but the club has grown to over 60 members. The club prides itself in running the annual Arthur Corporon fund raising tournament each year that has raised money for a local women's shelter, family resource center, a local charity kitchen, and Christmas Daddies. Each year a new beneficiary is chosen. Members of L.S.B.C. are some of the most active and competitive participants in tournament fishing in Nova Scotia.

Beside tournament bass fishing L.S.B.C. is dedicated to the conservation of the species (100% catch and release) and habitat protection. L.S.B.C. was a partner in the building of a new ramp on Wentworth Lake. Bass tournament fishing brings a financial boon to the community and L.S.B.C. has and will continue to actively work within the community to promote sports fishing in the area.
